I became an expat at 38. Full of energy, ambitious, and completely unprepared for what came next. Immigration stress and perimenopause arrived at the same time, and every habit I had relied on stopped working overnight.
I hired a coach to fix my procrastination. It did not work, because the problem was never discipline. My nervous system was overloaded, running in constant stress mode, and no amount of willpower can out-muscle a dysregulated state. When I finally addressed the state instead of the symptom, the procrastination dissolved on its own.
That discovery became my method.
